Press Release: Appointment of Interim Director of Public Works and Utilities
As the Mayor of the City of Tomah, and while acting as the Chief Executive Officer of the City as stated in reference 1, I do hereby appoint the President of Town and Country Engineering and designated partners to serve as the Interim Director of Public Works and Utilities. The contract specifying compensation was approved by the Public Works and Utilities Commission on 23 April 2025 in accordance with the authority vested in that body by Wisconsin State Statute 66.0805, sub parahgraph 3, "The commission may appoint and establish the compensation of a manager. The commission may command the services of the city, village or town engineer and may employ and fix the compensation of subordinates as necessary."
This appointment is to take effect on 2 May 2025, the day after the official termination date of the current Director of Public Works and Utilities. It is to remain in effect until such time that the Common Council of the City exercises their statutory authority to select a permanent Director of Public Works and Utilities and that person begins their first day of employment in said position. I direct all department heads and those employees of a lesser grade to render appropriate compliance and professional courtesy to the Interim Director of Public Works and Utilities as is due to the position of Director of Public Works and Utilities.
